xoxo sprinkles

If you live in LA and someone says "sprinkles" you don't think of those rainbow things on top of ice cream sundaes. You think Sprinkles Cupcakes - the posh Beverly Hills sensation that has celebrities and UCLA students alike lining up around the corner. Thanks to my Christmas present from Don we had Sprinkles on our Spanish Valentines Day!

Sprinkles sells kits that include their secret cake mix, instructions for making the batter and icing, and the company's signiature modern dots. Lucky you. You get to learn the secret of Sprinkles icing! Ready? It's... butter. Straight butter. Plus powdered sugar. Besides that the recipe is only 1/8 vanilla and 1.8 salt. So that's why it's so dangerously good.

Because of the pan we had fianlly been able to get our hands on in Spain we had to make the cupcakes mini style. More for everyone! We introduced the amazingness of Sprinkles and other baked goods to Allie's Spanish roomies. We looked like pros.

YUM. Heaven in cupcake form.

And that was our delish Valentines Day!
